The I Love EP logo type statue was unveiled at the Main Street Program’s Texas Independence Day Celebration to the attending public, who approved of the city’s efforts to revitalize to the downtown area.
Eagle Pass Mayor, Ramsey E. Cantu welcomed all in attendance and promised an all-out effort to continue with a vision to add color and life to downtown and bring it back to its glory of yesteryear.
“We would like to thank you for coming out here and taking part in the activities that take place through the Main Street Program. We know this has been an evolution. Changes that have been
seen throughout the program, however in 2019 we will be bringing more opportunities for our Main Street District. The City Council and Main Street Board stand committed to assuring that we’re all doing what we can
to bring more activities and life, not only to downtown, but throughout the entire city of Eagle Pass,” said Mayor Cantu. “I ask you to continue helping us bring that love for our community. And help us continue improving our
community and the overall affection that we have for our city. The city council has given a firm directive to assure that we bring the arts and culture to our community. It’s with great pride that today we unveil the first of many sculptures and other city signage in this area that will be the city’s art and historical district.”
The city then unveiled the new I Love EP sculpture to the hundreds of people in attendance.
The city is currently working on opening an Art Gallery and cultural center in the heart of downtown.
