had been deported.
“Violent criminals continue to illegally cross the border and attempt to enter
the United States,” said Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J.
Hudak. “Our agents remain vigilant to prevent these types of criminals from
entering and harming our communities.”
On Feb. 18, Border Patrol agents conducting linewatch operations near
Eagle Pass apprehended a 35-year-old Honduran national. Records checks
revealed he was deported from the United States in 2006 and is a confirmed
member of the notorious MS-13 gang.
The individual’s prior order of removal will be reinstated, and he faces
prosecution under 8 USC § 1326 – reentry after deportation, which carries a
maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
The Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is part of the Joint Task Force-West South
Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat
