EPISD recognizes school leaders during Texas Principals month

The Eagle Pass Independent School District recognized all their principals as proclaimed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott during the month of October for Texas Principals month

During the EPISD board of Trustees meeting held on Tuesday, October 9, Board President Lupita Fuentes called for the recognition of all EPISD principals for their hard work and dedication to the district and all school children.

 

Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Samuel Mijares recognized all EPISD principals on behalf of the administration and the board of trustees. “I want to thank you on behalf of the school board and administration for the work you do. It’s Texas Principals month but we really should recognize you every day of the year,” said Mijares.

EPISD Superintendent Gilbert Gonzalez also acknowledged the districts principals. You’re on the front line and for everything you do and because of you all we excel,” said Gonzalez.

 

Board Trustee Rudy Bowles also thanked the principals for their dedication to our district’s children.

 

“On behalf of the Board, we want to thank you. We do appreciate the hard work and long hours that you all work. Thank you for everything that you do,” said Board President Lupita Fuentes. 

 Texas Governor Greg Abbott wrote “ Principals are entrusted with our most precious- valuable resource- the children of this great state. Children are our promise for the future. Principals fulfill many roles in our schools and beyond. Principals support the community, students, parents and a healthy school environment as leaders, communicators, disciplinarians, budget analyst and makers of policy mandates and initiatives. Principals set the academic tone for their schools. During the month of October, we recognize the important roles principals assume in helping to ensure that every child that has access to a high-quality education in safe and supporting environments,” wrote Gov. Abbott.
