Commissioners Court honors 13-year-old Eagle Pass Babe Ruth All-Stars team

The 13-year-old Eagle Pass Babe Ruth All-Stars team were honored by the Maverick County Commissioners Court on Monday, August 20, 2018.

During a meeting held by the Commissioners Court, Maverick County Judge welcomed the baseball team and applauded their efforts and representation in the Babe Ruth 13 -Year-Old World Series Championship held in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Judge Saucedo and the Commissioners Court introduced each player and presented them a plaque for their efforts and being good stewards to the community and region.

The Commissioners Court thanked the team, coaches, and families for their outstanding

performance during the World Series.

The Eagle Pass Team fought hard throughout the competition but came within one out to win the World Series Championship.

“You represented the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County and did an excellent job. You are all ambassadors to our community. This community is honored to have people like you,”said Saucedo. 

”We want to congratulate the coaches and parents for everything they have done as well.”

“I’d like to congratulate you for a job well done,” added Commissioner Pete Venegas.

The Eagle Pass Babe Ruth 13-year old team consists of Donovan Becerra, Robert De La Garza, Pedro Fernandez, Juan Martinez, Jose Duran, Kyle Gloria, Luis Kancheff, Issac Stanwick, Efrain Estrada, Diego Martinez, Derek Ruiz, Dante Leija, Alex Paniagua, Alan Vielma, Aiden Lopez, and Coaches Robert De La Garza, Morris Libson, David Lopez and Tommy Garcia.
