The Maverick County Commissioners Court voted in favor of allowing for the consolidation of voting polls during the up-coming Democratic Primary Runoff election.

During the Commissioners Court meeting held on Monday April 10, 2018 Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo opened up the agenda item for discussion and possible action to allow for such action as requested by the Maverick County Democratic Party.  Maverick County Democratic Chairperson Luis A. Ruiz presented the court information regarding the party’s request under the U.S. Voting Rights Act of 1965 which allows for such consolidation.

Under this guides the action may be done as long as the governing body of that area approves it and deems it a non- violation of any voters civil rights and allows for voter accessibility at the election polls.

The Consolidation will be as follows; PCT 1 ABC - Memorial Jr High, PCT 2 AB - San Luis Elementary, PCT 2 C - Rosita Valley Elementary, PCT 2 D -

El Indio Community Center, PCT 3 AB - Seco Mines Elementary, PCT 3 C - Quemado Community Center, PCT 4 ABC - Eagle Pass High School, PCT 4 D - Henry B Gonzalez Elementary.

Maverick County Commissioners Court as the governing body unanimously approved the Democratic Primary Election Run-off Poll Consolidation.
