Commissioner's Court approves two positions for tax assessor's office

The Maverick County Commissioner's Court held a special meeting to discuss and possibly approve the hiring of additional employees for the County Tax Assessor Collector’s office.
After discussing the issue the court voted in favor of hiring two additional employees to assist in that office.


Maverick County Commissioners Court had addressed the long lines and wait times being seen at the Tax Assessor office with Collector Isamari S. Villareal during their meeting held on Monday March , 12. “It’s of no surprise to everyone that for the past month we have been having long lines everyday starting at 8 am., ” said Villareal.
She explained to the court some of the issues that add to the problem including more vehicle registrations being issued and other factors that are beyond her department’s control.
Villareal stated that unlike other years that there are certain months that see an increase in activity this year it has been a constant influx of customers.
 Commissioners Court has offered to assists the tax assessors office with everything that is needed to expedite and alleviate the problems of long lines at that office
