The incident was reported as a small brush fire in the area of Elm Creek on Del Rio Blvd.
Upon arrival the fire department attempted to extinguish the blaze with their booster truck but were overwhelmed due to the fire growing in size.
A larger fire unit was called in and the EPFD proceeded to continue fighting the out of control blaze.
The blaze appears to have been caused by a fire that had been set to burn trash.

The Eagle Pass Fire and Maverick County Sheriff Department’s responded to an emergency call at approximately 1:15 pm on Friday March 30.
