Beginning February 28, Cinemark theaters are banning large bags in their 530 movie theaters.
Cinemark representatives state that the move is in an effort to increase the safety for moviegoers and

staff. The third largest movie theater chain in the United States has specified that any bags or packages that measure larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches will no longer be allowed inside their theaters with the exception of diaper and medical bags.
Cinemark is also implementing other measures including the check of any bags by their personnel. This will include backpacks and other packages.
The effort to change the way they have operated is due to changes in society and the need to enhance security in as many ways as possible.
Other major theaters already have this type of policies in place. Cinemark states that they reserve the right to inspect all bags, packages coming into their buildings.
