Fire Department reports state that employees at the district reported a large amount of smoke coming from the ceiling area specifically on the second floor.
Eye witness accounts state that the affected area was within the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Department. There was smoke coming from the ceiling area,” said one eyewitness.
The Eagle Pass Fire Department evacuated the entire building and then searched for the cause of the problem. After 40 minutes the EPFD and the District’s maintenance technician cleared the building and it was deemed safe to re-open.

Bomberos acuden a llamado en  MCHD

El Departamento de Bomberos de Eagle Pass (EPFD) respondió a una llamada de emergencia en el edificio del Maverick County Hospital District aproximadamente a las 2:00 p.m. del lunes 26 de febrero. Los informes del Departamento de Bomberos indican que los empleados del hospital del distrito informaron  que  habia una gran cantidad de humo proveniente del area del techo específicamente en el segundo piso.
Los  testigos declaran que el área afectada se encontraba dentro del Departamento de Terapia de oxígeno hiperbárico. Había humo proveniente del área del techo ", dijo un testigo.
El Departamento de Bomberos de Eagle Pass evacuó todo el edificio y luego buscó la causa del problema. Después de 40 minutos, el EPFD yel técnico de mantenimiento del distrito limpiaron el edificio y se consideró seguro reabrir.
