The Mavericks put up a fight but the hornets offensive shooting, ball movement and tough defense was the deciding factor in this championship game. In the end the Lady Mavericks fell short of their aspirations but did manage to finish fourth place in the District 29-5A .
The Mavericks also qualify to play in the State Playoffs.
The Lady Mavericks made their way into the 2018 U.I.L. Region IV, District 29-5A playoffs by defeating the Floresville High School Jaguars 31-23 during their game on Friday February, 9.

The Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Lady Mavericks Basketball Team lost to the Flour Bluff High School Lady Hornets with a score of 55 to 20 in the 5A Bi--District Championship Game for Region IV on Monday, February 12.
