seminar for county judges, county attorneys, and all law enforcement agencies within the district at the Dimmit County Rodeo Arena and Conference Center in Carrizo Springs, Texas on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
Mr. Kelley McCormick, BPU TAG Prosecutor from the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office, was the instructor for the Legislative Update. The training seminar helped veteran and beginner peace officers learn and understand the criminal and civil code changes made during the 85th Texas Legislative session.
The seminar focused on the changes to the Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Family Code, the Health & Safety Code, and the Transportation Code. District Attorney Serna further announced that his office will continue to provide training to those law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe from crime and ensure the enforcement of our criminal laws for the benefit of our community. District Attorney Serna went on to state that there’s never enough training, and the more training our officers receive the safer and better our communities will be.
The 293rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office would like to thank the County of Dimmit for allowing the seminar to be held at the facility. Also to be commended is Assistant District Attorney Martha Ponce for her outstanding assistance in the organization of this seminar.
