Uresti who was indicted in May , 2017 and is being charged on 22 counts inclduing charges of money laundering and wire fraud.

As Uresti’s legal team prepares to go to court one of his co-defendants implicated in a supposed ponzi scheme, Stan Bates of Four Winds pled guilty on Monday January 8, 2018 on the charges he is being accussed of. 

This guilty plea could be seen as a complication for the defendants in this case among them Urest and Gary Cain of Four Winds Logistics.  

At this point Uresti and his legal team are in preparations for the legal case and accusations of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.  

The department of justice claims that the trio developed a "investment Ponzi scheme to market fracking. " 

For each fraud related charge the Defendants could face up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted. For each money laundering charge, they could face up to 10 years in prison.

The Four Winds Criminal Case involving Texas Senator Carlos Uresti is scheduled for trial and jury selection on Thursday January 18, 2018.
