Reports from the Fire Department show that units responded to the Texas Migrant Council building on Diaz St. in Seco Mines in regards to a fire alarm at around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5.
The EPFD began to acess the situation, cleared it, and determined that a fire alarm had gone off, but no indication of a fire was found within the building.
Neighbors from the area mentioned that an alarm had been going off for at least five to six hours.
On Saturday, January 6, EPFD fire engines and rescue units, including the Maverick County Sheriff Department, responded to a two story building on the 2600 block of Del Rio Boulevard, near Seco Mines at around 5:50 p.m.
The call came in as a possible building on fire, and fire crews began a search of the structure which houses the Popos Barbacoa Restaurant.
The issue was contained with minimal damages.
