The early voting process for the City of Eagle Pass special election ended with a total of 510 votes cast in the 10 day voting period.

The candidates will now concentrate in trying to rally in votes for election day to be held this Saturday, December 16 at the Multipurpose Center located at 480 South Adams Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The community is invited to participate in the democratic voting process as the City of Eagle Pass tries to fill an important city council position that was left vacant with the resignation of Councilwoman Gloria Hernandez.

Hernandez automatically resigned when she held a press conference to announce her aspirations to challenge incumbent Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo for his position.

There are three persons that signed up for the city council election: former council member  William Billy Davis, U.S. Postmaster Ernesto Saucedo and Real Estate Agent Romeo Fernandez.
