Press release

To the residents of Maverick County and the City of Eagle Pass:
I would like to formally announce that I will not be seeking re-election for the position of Justice of the Peace Precinct 4. This decision was made after a lot of thought, but I would like to concentrate on my father and family. I will still be involved with the community which is my passion but in a different role. I would like to take the time to thank the voters of Precinct 4 and the community as a whole. I would also

like to thank my family and friends for their support. It has been a pleasure serving the community as Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 since 1991. I will finish my current term with a total of 28 years. It has been a pleasure working with former and current County Judges, Commissioners, County Attorney’s MHMR and different law enforcement agencies such as Sheriff’s Dept., Department of Public Safety, Game Wardens, Constables, Union Pacific PD and Eagle Pass Dept.
I would like to give a special thanks go my Chief Justice Clerk Eva Romero, Deputy Constable Ernie Leija and all the Pct. 4 Deputy Constables who attend my court on a regular basis. Thank you to everyone who contributed through all my years of service. I look forward to the next chapter in my life.

With sincere appreciation,
Teresa Melendrez
Justice of the Peace
Precinct 4-1
Maverick County, Texas
