Press Release

Maverick County Code Inspector Ricardo Treviño is reaching out to all contractors, master plumbers, master electricians or citizens who may be building outside the city’s limits next year in order to remind them of new requirements adopted by Commissioners Court.

“Effective January the 1st, you’re going to be required to register to perform construction work, building work, additions, remodeling, anything that has to do with construction must register with Maverick County in order to perform that work,” said Treviño on Thursday as Road & Bridge crews laid the finishing touches on much needed road pavings in and around the county, “Registration forms can be picked up at the Road & Bridge Department on Highway 57.”
He is informing contractors that a fee will be required to be paid in order for these projects to be approved, “The fee will be $100.00, which is similar to what the City of Eagle Pass charges for the same permits. The same fee will apply at the County.”
This release comes with ample time for any contractor to know before taking on any projects in 2018.
“We do recommend that everyone registers if they’re planning on having construction outside the city limits in Maverick County.”
Treviño closed by saying that if anyone has questions regarding this new process, they can contact him at the office.
“Yes that can call us and we’ll give them the information by all means. We don’t want to deny anyone the right to their livelihood, but they should be registered with the appropriate paperwork. Private property owners who are considering doing their own work or subcontracting, are also required to get this permit. You can contact us at 830-773-2154.”
