A car parked on the corner of Ford and Monroe Street was found on fire Monday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a call that came in about the small late model blue Chevrolet hatchback. Officers arrived and stopped traffic to be able to get firefighters, who were only about a block away, to the scene of the incident, said EPPD Public Information Officer Humberto Garza.

The fire appeared to have started in the dashboard area of the car.

Garza also said that no major incidents had been reported on Thanksgiving or Black Friday.
