Armando Herrera was walking in the Loma Bonita area when deputies noticed he was stumbling and stopped to see if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
“He looked intoxicated so they started patting him down for their safety, “ said Chief Deputy Roberto De Leon. “That’s when they found the two baggies of controlled substance, and that’s when the subject started resisting arrest.”
The controlled substance appeared to be cocaine, and was being sent to the lab for testing.
De Leon said the rest of Thanksgiving day was relatively calm.
“[Deputies] said it was pretty quiet, they were just patrolling the area, a few traffic stops here and there,” said De Leon.
