This is the second procurement workshop that the BEDC Government Relations Sub-Committee has held since September 28. This workshop is open to anyone wanting to learn about how to do business with the City of Eagle Pass. City Finance Director Jesus Rodriguez and City Purchasing Director Ana de la Garza will lead the workshop and offer direct professional guidance on the city’s procurement process and procedures.
“I am pleased that the BEDC and its volunteers are thinking out of the box and offering new opportunities for local business owners to grow their business,” says Eagle Pass City Manager Art Rodriguez.
The BEDC, which is led by Chairman Morris Libson, has been leading an aggressive agenda aimed at creating economic growth since its inception in June. The BEDC recently held two career and job fairs, a Labor Workforce & Training Workshop with Texas Workforce Commissioner on Labor Julian Alvarez, and Transportation and Infrastructure meeting with TXDOT Chief Engineer Bill Hale Last week.
“The BEDC Executive Committee is very pleased that Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu and the City Council have been fully supportive of our efforts to support local and regional economic growth,” says BEDC Chairman Morris Libson. “It’s gratifying to know that they are committed to our collaborative efforts to help our community,” adds Libson.
