Cardenas was reported missing by family members after he told them he would be crossing into U.S. soil through the Rio Grande River on November 3.

Relatives reported to Sheriff’s Department detectives that Cardenas had told them he would cross the Rio Grande in order to visit his wife who is hospitalized at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. 

Cardenas does not have permission to cross into the U.S. via a visitors visa or citizenship documentation. 

His family is extremely worried and fear the worst since they have not heard from him in days.  

Sheriff Tom Schmerber has notified the Mexican Consulate’s office in Eagle Pass who will begin helping in the search.

Reportan a hombre desaparecido 

   El departamento del sheriff del condado de Maverick ha denunciado la desaparición de José Alejandro Treviño Cárdenas, de 28 años, originario de Piedras Negras. Cárdenas fue reportado como desaparecido por miembros de su familia después de que les dijo que cruzaría hacia los Estados Unidos a través del río Grande el 3 de noviembre.

   Los familiares le dijeron a los detectives del sheriff que Cárdenas les había dicho que cruzaría  a esta ciudad de Eagle Pass a visitar a su esposa que está hospitalizada en el Centro Médico Regional de Fort Duncan.

Cárdenas no tiene permiso para cruzar a los EE. UU. A través de una visa de visitante o documentación de ciudadanía.

   Su familia está extremadamente preocupada y temen lo peor ya que no han tenido noticias suyas en días.

   El sheriff Tom Schmerber ha notificado a la oficina consular de México en Eagle Pass, que comenzará a ayudar en la búsqueda.
