Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu welcomed the hundreds of families present, and emphasized the importance of law enforcement and the intricate role they play in the safety of the community.
Mayor Cantu then presented Eagle Pass Chief Albert Guajardo with a proclamation of gratitude for the important role that all law enforcement agents play in crime and drug prevention, strengthening neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships,
Chief Guajardo was appreciative for the recognition and thanked Mayor Cantu and the community for their attendance.
Guajardo took the time to recognize an officer who has been instrumental in organizing this event, but who was not able to attend.
“This very special person is not here today, but she is the one who has put these events together and on behalf of the Eagle Pass Police Department I want to dedicate this evening to Detective Hazel Diaz,” said Guajardo.
