Sheriff Deputies arrived to the scene of the accident on High Noon Boulevard and found that the vehicles involved were an Eagle Pass Independent School District bus and a Pontiac Grand Prix.
Chief Deputy Roberto De Leon reports that the accident was caused by the school bus.
“The school bus backed up into the vehicle. There were 29 children inside of the school bus and 2 of them did require treatment and were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment,” said De Leon.
Everyone else involved in the accident refused medical attention at the scene of the accident.
“We do want to ask the community to be careful and please give larger vehicles sufficient space for turns and to at least drive 2 car lengths away from buses and trailers to ensure your safety and theirs,” added De Leon.
