The Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees held a meeting on Tuesday, October 10, in which they recognized Michael Lozano a high school student who attended the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts.

Lozano is an 11th grade student who represented the  Eagle Pass High School and CC Winn Campuses, the district, community, and the State of Texas at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in June. Lozano was presented an award of excellence certifying his completion.

During his experience Lozano was fortunate to be taught by some of the greatest living minds in science and technology: winners of worlds’ most prestigious international prizes including David J. Wineland, PHD Nobel Prize Winner 2012 in Physics, Rainer Weiss PHD winner 2016 Special Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics and Professor Emeritus of Physics at MIT, among other distinguished and accomplished individuals.

The academy’s primary founding principle is to honor and reward high achieving students dedicated to medicine or the S.T.E.M subjects.
