Eagle Pass CBP seize 30 lbs of narcotics at Port of Entry

   EAGLE PASS, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 30 pounds of narcotics at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

   “Our CBP officers are constantly vigilant in protecting the United States,” said Port Director John Brandt, Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

“This seizure is yet another illustration of the professionalism and dedication our frontline CBP officers put forth on a daily basis.”

   On Oct. 9, CBP officers at Eagle Pass International Bridge I inspected a 2011 Honda Accord, driven by a 50-year-old woman, as it arrived in the United States from Mexico. During inspection officers discovered two bags on the front seat, containing a total of 12 packages of suspected narcotics. Officers seized more than 20 pounds of alleged cocaine and 9 pounds of alleged methamphetamine, with a combined estimated value of $291,774.

   The driver, a U.S. citizen and resident of Eagle Pass, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for federal prosecution. 

  The Office of Field Operations is the primary organization within U.S. Customs and Border Protection tasked with an anti-terrorism mission at our nation’s ports. CBP officers screen all people, vehicles and goods entering the United States while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel. Their mission also includes carrying out border-related duties, including narcotics interdiction, enforcing immigration and trade laws, and protecting the nation's food supply and agriculture industry from pests and diseases.

 

 

 

CBP incauta  cocaine y metanfetaminas en el puerto de entrada

 

   EAGLE PASS, Texas - Los funcionarios de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza de los Estados Unidos incautaron casi 30 libras de narcóticos en el puerto de entrada de Eagle Pass.

    "Nuestros agentes del CBP están constantemente vigilantes en la protección de los Estados Unidos", dijo el Director del Puerto John Brandt.  "Esta incautación es otra muestra más del profesionalismo y la dedicación que nuestros funcionarios de primera línea del CBP ponen sobre una base diaria."

    El 9 de octubre, oficiales de la CBP en el Puente Internacional Eagle Pass revisaron un Honda Accord de 2011, conducido por una mujer de 50 años, cuando llegó a Estados Unidos desde México. Durante la inspección descubrieron dos bolsas en el asiento delantero, con un total de 12 paquetes sospechosos de narcóticos. Los oficiales incautaron más de 20 libras de presunta cocaína y 9 libras de presunta metanfetamina, con un valor estimado combinado de $291.774 dólares.

    El conductor, un ciudadano estadounidense y residente de Eagle Pass, fue entregado a Investigaciones de Seguridad Interna para procesamiento federal.
