The community is invited to join the event in which Nevárez will address many issues including the last legislative session, concerns of the community, and where the area and state are headed to during the next session. Nevarez will also explain some of the actions taken by the legislature this past session and also touch base on what pieces of legislature he was able to pass, and which pieces he stood with or against for the betterment of the state. He will also be taking questions from those in attendance.  
“I am looking forward to meeting up with my constituents and addressing the legislative session,” said Nevárez. “I want to take the time and invite each and everyone to join me in my hometown of Eagle Pass.”
Rep. Nevárez is serving his third term as the State Representative for House District 74, which includes the counties of Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Kinney, Loving, Maverick, Pecos, Presidio, Reeves, Terrell, and Val Verde.
During his time in office Nevarez has won the respect of his peers who have appointed him to various Committees including the Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee where he serves as Vice Chair. He is also a member of the Natural Resources Committee, General Investigating and Ethics Committee, and the Calendars Committee.
Nevarez has also seen some controversial moments during his tenure, including having his life threatened by a member of a Pro Gun Rights Open Carry Group back in 2015, and the recent altercation with one of his colleagues over immigration issues that almost came to blows.
