Bail was set at $30,000.00 on two charges, the first of paying a bribe to an agent of an organization receiving federal funds and wire fraud.
According to the indictment, Gonzalez submitted a $35,100.00 bid to Maverick County to build a sidewalk on Lago Vista St. in Precinct 4.
Maverick County issued two separate check totaling $35,100.00 to Gonzalez, the first on May 24, 2011 for $13, 050.00 to commence work on

Gonzalez is expected to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Collis White this morning in Del Rio for his Initial Appearance.
This is one of nine arrests which have been made by the FBI in recent months since October in relation to these cases of fraud
including two commissioners Rudy Heredia and Eliaz Maldonado; Jaime Flores, Rene Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Alejandra Garcia and Juan Carlos Moncada who used to work in the auditor's office
and Joe Rodriguez, the owner of a local business. All of these individuals face federal charges for misuse of County funds.
