A raffle was held on Saturday to raise money for the ongoing lawsuit concerned taxpayer Ethelvina Felan has filed against Maverick County. The case is set to be reviewed at the Texas 4th Court of Appeals level after judgement was ruled in favor of Felan in the Maverick County rollback petition.
Prizes included $100 cash, a wreath, a barbecue pit, and a 55 inch television. Children who were present at the raffle selected the winning tickets.
First place winner Guadalupe Zapata took home the television, second place winner Gilbert Gonzalez received a barbecue pit, third place winner Alicia Lopez received the wreath, and fourth place winner Mike Garcia received $100.
The winners were notified by phone and picked up their prizes Saturday and Monday.
