Quemado near Las Moras Creek. Reports indicate that the semi truck was carrying exercise equipment and traveling northbound on US 277 when the truck caught fire.
This incident occurred at approximately 11:10 am, a short distance north of the town of El Quemado within Maverick County.
There were no injuries reported as the driver managed to get out of the truck in time. EPFD responded to the scene to extinguish the flames while border patrol units, Sheriff’s deputies and DPS troopers helped in controlling the traffic.
According to Raul Leal, TxDOT Public Information Officer detours were infect for 4 hours as a result of the fire and motorists were asked to take FM 1908 to SH 131 to Bracketville and FM 693 to Bracketville.
