The event was hosted by long time Chamber of Commerce member and public advocate Mike Garcia who welcomed those in attendance including Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey E Cantu and Mayor Pro Tem Yolanda Ramon.
During the event, 19-year-old America Segura thanked everyone in attendance and acknowledged her mother especially for the extra support in helping her reach her goal of opening up her own clothing business.
“I want to thank you for being there and allowing me to go after my dreams,” said Segura.
Guest speaker Mayor Cantu commended Segura for opening up a boutique shop and following her dreams of being a business owner.
“Congratulations to this young 19-year-old entrepreneur. We applaud you and wish you the best in your new business endeavor,” said Cantu. “We congratulate Miss America Segura and family on the opening of her new boutique located on Garrison Street. She is such an inspiration to many young women that if you can dream it you can achieve it. Remember to shop small and shop local.”
