USBP is working with the Mexican Consulate in Eagle Pass in an attempt to identify the man as documents were found among his belongings, but none with a photo.

USBP statistical reports for the last reporting period show that from October 2015 to September 2016 a total of 3,964 rescues were performed across the US, and 322 immigrant deaths were reported during. The Del Rio Sector reported 18 rescues and 14 deaths during this time.
