Customs and Border Protection agents have reported that they were able to take down 37.4 lbs of methamphetamine on Tuesday, June 13 at the Camino Real International Bridge in Eagle Pass.

The seizure of the narcotics led to the detention of two individuals who were taken to Del Rio where they now wait for an initial appearance in the Western District Federal Court to face charges.

Reports state that the narcotics were found hidden in a Nissan, driven by a subject identified as Randy Moreno. Another person was later arrested in connection with the drug bust at the port of entry.

Federal agents are reported to have arrested a man identified as Teofilo Vela, a Mexican national, who is believed to be connected in the seizure of the 37 lbs of methamphetamine. Vela is reported to be an employee of Alcalosa, an import export forwarding company in Eagle Pass.

Information on when the individuals will have their initial appearance in court has not been made public as of press time.
