Thursday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., deputies responded to a call about a case of family violence, but once they arrived the man, identified as Jesus J. Garcia, was no longer there.
“Deputy Rosa Ramirez was the one who saw the vehicle and pursued it, and he didn’t stop,” said Sheriff Tom Schmerber. “Eventually he goes into the property again and he rammed into the truck of the deputy several times.”
Deputies were able to remove Garcia from his vehicle. He was arrested and charged with family violence, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on an officer.
Deputy Ramirez suffered neck and back pain as a result of the assault and was taken to the hospital.
