Joining them were Eagle Pass Nursing and Rehab, local adult day cares including Willow Creek, TLC, and Keywest, La Vida Serena of Del Rio, Amistad Nursing Care of Uvalde, and Carrizo Springs Nursing and Rehab of Carrizo Springs.
Over 100 people participated in events like the bean bag toss, volleyball games, shot put and javelin throws, a walkathon, and wheelchair races, including a football themed wheelchair race that former pro football player Keith Stephens assisted with.
“All the people who participated were very excited about it,” said La Hacienda de Paz Administrator Pete Zamora.
After the competitions, participants went inside to enjoy a lunch of grilled hot dogs and partake in a dance. An awards ceremony followed, with first, second, and third place awards given to those who had won the most events.
