congratulated the graduates for their hard work, wishing them luck in their lives after high school.
Valedictorian Mario Garcia, Jr. thanked the many people who supported and inspired him along the way including his family, godmother, club sponsors, and teachers. Garcia also encouraged his fellow classmates to continue to strive to do their best in whatever they choose to do.
“Set your goals high and don’t be afraid to fall. Shoot for the stars and convince yourself you’ll land among them because if your goals don’t scare you you probably don’t have the right ones,” said Garcia. “Take risks and have the adventures you’re going to be proud of and look back not with regret but for appreciation of the journey.”
Salutatorian Rolando Gonzalez also thanked those in attendance, and highlighted the fact that although many of the students might not see each other again, or even return to Eagle Pass, they should remember where they came from.
“As we all go our separate ways I invite you to keep this little town, smack in the middle of nowhere, in your thoughts,” said Gonzalez.
