Saucedo Family Care celebrated their official grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 17.

City dignitaries were present at the ceremony to welcome the return of Dr. Juan Saucedo who was born and raised in Eagle Pass, and has been practicing medicine for over 21 years. His dream was to one day open his own clinic, and together with his wife Lydia and five children, was able to accomplish his goal.

The ceremony began with an invocation led by Alma Velasquez, followed by words from Dr. Saucedo.   “I welcome you to the grand opening of Saucedo Family Health Care. It gives me great pleasure to be able to be here in the community. It has always been a dream of mine to be able to serve the community, and being born and raised in Eagle Pass I know the community, and it has always been my policy to treat my patients as if I were treating a family member,” said Dr. Saucedo. “I would like to acknowledge my lovely wife Lydia who has been very supportive so that my dream could come true, also I would like to recognize my father in law Isidro De Los Santos who gives me excellent advice, and Mr. Jorge Kypuros who recruited me 21 years ago to come back to the community. When we look to open a practice we also considered looking in san antonio, but being born and raised and practicing here, I would like to continue providing quality care to the residents of Eagle Pass that is well deserved,

Mayor Ramsey English Cantu was the last to speak before the ribbon was cut, and thanked Dr. Saucedo for choosing to open his practice in Eagle Pass.

“As mayor it’s wonderful to hear Dr. Saucedo wanted to remain here in Eagle Pass  because it’s important for us to always recognize that healthcare is a top issue in our community,” said Cantu. “We always want to make sure we have great doctors, and at times it becomes an issue even to recruit doctors to our area, so we thank you Dr. Saucedo, we thank your family for considering staying. I take this time on behalf of the city council to formally congratulate you on this new practice, and wish you well. You’ve been at this for 21 year so i’m going to hold you to another 50.”
