The Maverick County Commissioners Court held a special meeting on Monday, May 15, in which they heard from Maverick County Elections Department Director Roy Schmerber in regards to a resolution for the

court to canvas the May 6, 2017 Certificate of Obligation election results.   Maverick County Elections Department Director Roy Schmerber stated the final totals of the $8.5 million Certificate of Obligation election held on May 6, 2017 were for 1,682 against 2,257, and that the court now needed to act. Schmerber then recommended that the Commissioners Court approve the final vote totals and outcome of the May 6 election. Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo asked of any commissioner had any comments or action on the recommendation at hand. Maverick County Commissioner for Pct.4 Roberto Ruiz then motioned for a waiving of the reading of the resolution to pass it along to be put up for vote. Ruiz’s motion was then seconded by County Commissioner for Pct. 1 Jerry Morales. The motion was called for a vote and was approved unanimously.
