PD responds to fraud, two reports of gun shots over weekend

On Saturday, April 29, the Eagle Pass Police Department received four reports from four separate complainants in regards to fraud. The four complainants alleged they were defrauded by a known female who took approximately $3500 from each person in separate incidents involving the validation of educational courses from Mexico. 

The incidents were said to have taken place at a business located within the 1800 block of Main Street. All four complainants requested to file formal charges and further stated that they had all made numerous attempts to contact the known female with no success.

 

Eagle Pass Police Officers also responded to reports of shots fired within the area of Ceylon Street and Ferry Street on Saturday, April 29, at 10:35 p.m.. Investigating officers recovered six shell casings and detained two adult males in the area on unrelated charges. The incident is currently under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.

 

On Sunday, April 30, 2:38 a.m. Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a fight in progress within the 400 block of South Texas Drive. Officers arrived and were informed by personnel from a nearby business of the fight in an adjacent parking lot where approximately six shots from an unknown type of firearm were heard. The area was searched and five spent shell casings were located on the ground. 

 

 

The case is currently under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
