UMC registered close to 25 children for a car seat check, and those who did not have a car seat in good condition or was not fit for the child’s measurements or age were given a new one courtesy of the Texas Department of Health Services.
“As we know sometimes they don’t even have car seats, so our number one concern is the safety of the child, making sure they’re in a secure car seat for their proper height and weight,” said UMC Health Worker Jessika Ramirez. “We’re just trying to get back to the community, we know Dia De Los Niños is coming up so this is something UMC wants to do for the safety of the children in our community.”
The carseat safety event is held about three times a year. In 2016 two of the three events were held in Eagle Pass, while the third was held in Bracketville.
UMC would also like to welcome back pediatrician Dr. Gaston Zylberg, and Ms. Ana Chong PA in pediatrics for her dedication.
