Alejandra Rueda and Leslie Riojas were named the District Tennis Girls Doubles Champions, and will be representing Eagle Pass High School at the upcoming Region 4 AAAAAA tournament set to take place April 18 through April 19 in San Antonio at the McFarlin Tennis Center.
Emily Chavarria, Carlo Rodriguez, Rebecca Moran, and Sylvia Lopez who placed third in district will be traveling along with Rueda and Riojas as alternates.
“[Rueda and Riojas] dominated the entire event,” said Head Coach Robert Gonzalez. “This is their senior year. Last year they had a good showing and so hopefully they’re able to put it together and make it to state.”
EPHS tennis has had an impressive season with a record of 15 wins to 2 losses.
“We did very well this year,” said Gonzalez.
