During their monthly meeting held on Tuesday, April 4, the city council sought to add to its existing code of ordinances under city-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.
Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu opened up the agenda item and stated that the rate needed to be clarified due to circumstances the city has experienced in the past.
The city council is seeking to approve the following user fees and rental charges for other city-owned buildings, equipment, and facilities to be collected by the city at the rate set out herein: recreational parks user fee: $100 per day at Hal F. Bowles Park, Jesse Sumpter Park, Shelby Park, and other parkland; $500.00 per day for carnivals and special events; $1,000 per day for commercial concert events where there will be
an entrance fee; and a limit of up to 3 events per year for non-profit organizations.
“Just for purposes of clarification for the renters and those who sign leases with the city, there are no questions about it, these will be the changes,” said Cantu.
Council then proceeded to hold a brief discussion on the issue with City Secretary Imelda B. Rodriguez the City.
After the discussion, the item was unanimously approved.
Neither Councilwoman Gloria Hernandez, nor Councilwoman Yolanda Ramon were present at the meeting.
The proposed ordinance amendments will be brought back another two times to be discussed and voted on.
