Eagle Pass Police Reports

The Eagle Pass Police Department made several arrests for outstanding warrants during the weekend.

 

An Eagle Pass Police officer responded to the HEB parking area on Saturday, April 1 at approximately 4:00 p.m. in reference to an assault.

 

The investigating officer spoke with a female victim who alleged she had been assaulted by another female who was present. The incident was said to have occurred over damage caused to a vehicle. Upon speaking with the alleged aggressor she was discovered to have an active municipal court warrant for her arrest which was served.

 

38-year-old Cynthia Rose Diaz was arrested for the municipal court warrant and later presented before a magistrate where she was formally charged with assault and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in Lieu of a $1,500 bond.

 

On Sunday, April 2, at 1:00 a.m., an Eagle Pass police officer responded to U.S. Port of Entry II in reference to a male subject with an active warrant for his arrest issued by the Eagle Pass Police Department. 

The warrant for 42-year-old Jose Manuel Vara Lopez was confirmed and served. Vara Lopez was wanted in connection of the theft of a Rolex watch valued at $6,950 which had been reported stolen on March 27, 2017. Vara Lopez was presented before a magistrate and formally charged with theft and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

 

A few minor incidents were reported to the Eagle Pass Police Department involving an intoxicated male subject and two disturbances involving juveniles at the International Friendship Festival March 30, 31, and April 1, however the overall atmosphere of the event was family oriented.

 El Departamento de Policía de Eagle Pass realizó varios arrestos  pendientes durante el fin de semana.

  Un oficial de policía de Eagle Pass respondió al área de estacionamiento del HEB el sábado 1º de abril aproximadamente a las 4:00 p.m. en referencia a un asalto.

   El oficial investigador habló con una víctima que alegaba haber sido agredida por otra mujer que estaba presente. Se dijo que el incidente se produjo por daños causados ​​a un vehículo. Al hablar con el presunto agresor, se descubrió que tenía una orden judicial municipal activa para su detención, que se cumplió.

   Cynthia Rose Diaz, de 38 años de edad, fue arrestada por una orden judicial municipal y luego presentada ante un magistrado donde fue acusada formalmente de agresión y remitida al Centro de Detención Tom Bowles con una fianza  de $ 1,500.

  Algunos incidentes menores fueron reportados al Departamento de Policía de Eagle Pass involucrando a un sujeto masculino intoxicado y dos disturbios de jóvenes en el Festival Internacional de Amistad del 30, 31 y 1 de marzo, sin embargo el ambiente general del evento fue  muy familiar
