hosted a Crime Scene Investigation training presented by Wayne Springer, Chief Investigator of the 38th Judicial District. The seminar was held on March 28-31, 2017 and was attended by over 50 law enforcement officers from different agencies, including United States Border Patrol, the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office, Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Pass Police Department, Carrizo Springs Independent School District Police, Crystal City Police Department, Maverick County Constable 3-2, 38th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Medina County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Del Rio Police Department, Val Verde Sheriff’s Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden. The course provided participants with information, techniques, and methods for conducting investigations ranging from general crimes scene investigations to death investigations. The District Attorney’s Office will continue to conduct trainings throughout the year to ensure that law enforcement agencies in Dimmit, Maverick, and Zavala counties receive training and education to better protect our children, our elderly, our schools, and our communities.
