On Saturday, March 25 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Maverick County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man for the possession of a controlled substance.
Marlon Dewayne Springs, age 40, was detained at the US Border Patrol Check point on Highway 57 after he was found with 54 ecstasy tablets.
The Sheriff’s Department was called and Springs, originally from San Antonio, was then arrested by deputies and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
In other reports: Deputies also made two arrests for disorderly conduct, one for public intoxication, and another for a wanted person.
On Sunday, March 26, deputies made contact with the driver of a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup, who stated they were struck by a silver vehicle that fled the scene while traveling on FM 1021. The Dodge sustained damages to its right rear area and the occupants refused medical attention at the time of the report.
