Former Fire Marshal Rodolfo Cardona has met all the requirements to take on the position held by the recently retired Felix Carrazco.
Investigator Eleazar Cuevas will fill in as Interim Fire Marshal until there is someone to permanently fill the position.
Fire Chief Manuel Mello says there are currently 12 people in the department, captains and lieutenants, who could apply for the position and take the required test if interested.
Chief Mello added that the department will be hosting a ceremony for those retiring and promoted at a later date.

The Eagle Pass Fire Department has confirmed that they have a new assistant fire chief as of Monday morning.
