Maverick County renewed their emergency notification system service agreement with Everbridge Inc. Management Emergency Systems during their monthly meeting held on Monday, March 13.

Everbridge Inc. was originally contracted by the county during December 2014 to provide technical support through a mass notification system at a cost of $6,875.48 for a one year subscription.

Maverick County Emergency Coordinator Polo Vielma stated at the 2014 meeting that the investment in the system was small in comparison to the benefits of being able to inform the community of emergencies, including severe inclement weather and other potential dangers.

The system in place sends emergency notifications through different sources such as text, e-mails, phone, and other communication systems available.

The County has the ability to use the system in a variety of ways including the sending of vital emergency information to the public, safety reminders, as well as to poll the general public on important public issues, among other tools made possible through the system.

Commissioners Court voted unanimously in approving the item at their meeting on March 13, 2017.

Maverick County and the City of Eagle Pass use the same company for its Mass Notification Systems.
