Del Rio Sector Apprehends Convicted Sex Offender Mexican National Previously Deported

DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Station arrested a convicted sex offender who had been previously removed.

“Our agents continue to make a difference within our communities,” said Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J. Hudak. “This notable apprehension highlights the unwavering dedication our agents display every day protecting our borders.” 

 

On Feb. 12, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, was apprehended by Eagle Pass Border Patrol agents near Eagle Pass. During processing, agents discovered that the subject had been previously arrested for multiple charges of public indecency in Chicago.  He also had an arrest for public indecency with a child in 1996 near New Braunfels. He was convicted in July of 1996 and was sentenced to 10 years probation.  In May 2005, he was deported to Mexico after attempting to enter the United States at the Juarez Lincoln Port of Entry in Laredo by falsely claiming to be a United States citizen.     

 

The Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is part of the Joint Task Force-West South Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.  During FY 2017, to date, Del Rio Sector agents have apprehended nine previously deported sex offenders.  To report suspicious activity, call the Del Rio Sector’s toll free number at 1-866-511-8727.
