EPISD School board celebrates top scholars

The Eagle Pass Independent School Board of Trustees held their meeting on Tuesday, February 14 in which they recognized students, teachers and campuses for their accomplishments and achievements under the citizens recognition and communication portion of the meeting.

   The EPISD Board first recognized Eagle Pass High School students Mario Garcia, Angelica Garza, Rolando Gonzalez, Ashley Castañeda, Kaleb Kypuros, and Hugo Desantiago for their accomplishments with the National Hispanic Recognition Program. 

 

CC Winn High School students Erik Chavarria, Alessandra Pereda, Jose Jimenez, Jennifer Mireles, and Alberto de la Cruz were also  recognized for their accomplishments with the National Hispanic Recognition Program.

   This students are recognized because they scored among the top 2.5% among Hispanic and Latino PSAT/NMSQT test takers in our region.   

 

   The school board also recognized Eagle Pass High School Students Lysandra Gonzalez All District, Myriam Salinas All Around Player, and Kathia Moreno in the top 15th % of her class with excellent motivational skills for their achievements. 

 

Pete Gallego Elementary Lady Lobos Cheer Squad was also recognized by board for competing at the Texas Cheerleader Open Championship in San Antonio, Tx on January 18, 2017 bringing home a first place division champion award in the small elementary category and winning a bid for Nationals competition to be held on March 4th and 5th , 2017.   

 

EPISD also takes time to recognize the most clean and maintained campus on a month to month basis and this month Early Childhood Center was selected as the most clean and maintained campus for the month of January 2017.

 

 Eagle Pass Jr. High School was also recognized for the highest energy conservation savings for the month of November 2016. The EPISD conducts inspections to minimize energy loss throughout the school district and it is shown that during this time EP JR High had an 15% overall savings , earning  the recognition. 

 

The EPISD School Board and Administration would like to congratulate the students, faculty and campuses recognized during this time and encourage all students within the school district to continue putting in their best efforts in studies and extra curricular activities as well.
