Fire Chief Manuel Mello said none of the people transferred to the hospital were in a serious condition despite being exposed to the acid-like chemical used to burn off nails and callouses by podiatrists.
The fire department held a meeting with the hospital and UMC to share ideas on how to handle a similar situation in the future.
Four ambulances, hazardous material units, and command units from the Eagle Pass Fire Department as well as about three private ambulance companies were sent to UMC to help with the spill and transferring patients.
