Initial reports state that Salinas was rushed to Mission Regional Medical Center, Emergency Room and was then processed into the hospital ending up in its Intensive Care Unit. Information further states that after certain testing Salinas was diagnosed with two brain tumors requiring further extensive testing and or possible surgery.  

It is believed that Salinas will be taken to MD Anderson in Houston. Due to the severity of his situation it is possible he will undergo surgery.  

Ben De Leon founder and singer of Solido acknowledged Salinas’s situation and posted comments online. “Today was a life changing day for Eligio, his family and all of Solido Nation.”

“I want to thank you guys for all your prayers and well wishes. Eligio is still in ICU, but is in good spirits, he is in for the fight of his life, but he is not alone, with faith in our Lord and Savior , we will stand alongside him, his family and help him battle the monster that has invaded his body. We continue to ask for your prayers and support.” added De Leon.

Brenda Salinas , Eligio’s wife set up a Go Fund Me account where she is asking for donations for Salinas’s medical expenses. “This devastation and turmoil will cause him to stop doing what he loves most,” Salinas posted  

“Those of you that know him, know that playing the accordion is not just a hobby. It’s his passion. His love for music came at a young age. He’s been playing the accordion for over 20 years.” she wrote

Grupo Solido posted on their Facebook page on Monday January, 16, 2017 that Salinas had already been transferred to Houston , Texas. “Eligio is here and he is ready to fight for his health and he thanks all of you for the prayers and well wishes.”
