The tractor trailer was traveling southbound from Del Rio near the area of Quemado before reaching Normandy when the driver lost control and drove into a nearby creek.
The driver was able to communicate to first responders and was immediately immobilized before law enforcement officials assisted in removing the driver from the vehicle.
Highway patrol officers, U.S. Border Patrol agents, Eagle Pass Fire Department Rescue and EMS as well as County Sheriff officials were present at the scene of the crash. Preliminary information at the scene of the accident indicated that the driver lost control and drove into the creek where the tractor trailer crashed and came to rest, pinning the driver inside the vehicle with undetermined injuries.
It is possible that weather conditions may have been involved in the accident as light rain created slick roadways in the area.
The driver of the vehicle was transferred to the emergency room and no further information was available as of press time.
